The spelling bee consists of three stages the homeroom stage, the grade-level stage and the middle school stage.
STAGE ONE-WEDNESDAY, MARCH 5th in HOMEROOMS (no advisory)
Stage One is a WRITTEN test and will take place in homerooms. Teachers will read a list of 20 words that I will email to you. (15 are from the on-line list on the library website---see below---and there are 5 challenge words). Pass along the student's answers and we will let you know which 2-3 students per homeroom will advance to STAGE TWO

STAGE TWO-WEEK OF MARCH 18 (Locations TBD by Teams)
6th Grade (TiMS time-March 19th)
7th Grade (Advisory Time-March 18th)
8th Grade (Advisory Time-March 20th)
There will be HOMEROOM TIME (no advisory) on MARCH 18 and March 20th to accommodate the spelling bee. If your grade is not involved in the spelling bee that day, grade-level activities can be completed.
*Stage two is GRADE LEVEL and ORAL. Each grade level will need three judges and a pronouncer. Tim Munro will serve as MC. The top 4 spellers will move on to STAGE 3.
STAGE THREE-APRIL 9 9:25am in the AUDITORIUM
Stage three is ALL MIDDLE SCHOOL
Stage three is ORAL and will be in the auditorium. We will let you know the date ASAP. 3 Winners (and 1 alternate) from STAGE 3 will go to the KAIAC tournament on April 25.
